Final Placement of Time Capsule

On Thursday 7th Feb. The Lions Time Capsule was finally placed in the Bridlington Library on King Street. The Bridlington Lions Club worked with the Bridlington Town Council and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council on this project.

The capsule was made to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee and was first intended to be opened in 60 years time, but now the intention is to open it every 10 years and the contents displayed for the people of Bridlington to view. The contents were given from schools, churches, clubs, businesses, historical groups and any organisation that wished to contribute.

The first photograph taken before the final placement shows Bridlington Lions President-David Sutton, the Mayor of Bridlington-Councillor Michael Charlesworth, Chairman of the E.R.Y.C.-Councillor Chad Chadwick, Portfolio Holder for the Library and Information Service-Councillor Richard Burton and Bridlington Lions Club member Chris Beesting who is shown in the second photograph next to the capsule before it was finally placed and locked for the next ten years.
