Lions Changeover

On Thursday 11th July, Bridlington Lions Club held their change-over meal at Rags Restaurant overlooking the Bridlington Harbour. It was a beautiful calm evening when 58 Lions, partners and friends enjoyed an excellent three course meal followed by a meeting. The outgoing President, David Sutton handed over the chain of office to incoming President Eileen Sunderland who is now the first female president since the club started in 1963.

During the evening David Sutton gave a comprehensive account of the years activities in the club and also presented a 15 year long service award to Lion John Pudsey. Eileen also gave a speech highlighting her main focus to be on the youth of Bridlington for this coming year and also mentioned several officer positions to be held. Janet Sutton gave an account of the Lions Ladies Club activities for the past year and mentioned the diary of events for the coming year.

Thanks were given to Jane Plawecki, Sylvia Bolderson and Reena Scrowston for their special help given. The club enjoyed the presence of John Hall, new District Governor, accompanied by his wife Joan.

The club is now looking forward to another successful year and will continue to serve Bridlington and the Worldwide Community as it has done for the last 50 years.
