Lions Sponsor Guide Dog Training

The Lions celebrated the presentation of a cheque for £2000 in The
Promenades to Mrs Samantha Bradley of the Guide Dog Association by Eileen
Sunderland the President of the Bridlington Lions.

Mr George Wiles and his new dog TJ a 2year old Golden Retriever have been
together since February 7th when the previous dog Murdoch, who has come to
the end of his working life, retired for a well earned rest in Wales

Bridlington Lions have sponsored TJ to replace Murdoch the sponsorship
involved training, food and board as well as veterinary fees and was a big
commitment over the last two years and the cheque was a contribution towards
this training and development.

The Lions were also able to promote the importance of good eye health which
involves regular eye tests at the local opticians as well as the Message in
a Bottle which is a free scheme to encourage Bridlington residents to keep a
list of all their medication so that if there was an emergency at home or in
the car the paramedics could immediately see what medicines the person was
