Radio Humberside visit Bridlington Lions Book Shop

This morning our book shop had a visit from Lucy Clarke of BBC Radio Humberside.

A clue for ‘Absolutely Clueless‘  had been placed in the book shop next to the Delia Smith Christmas cookbook in the Window. Using a set of clues Radio Humberside listeners phoned, texted or Tweeted Andy Comfort back at the radio station to guide Lucy to the shop.

Before they called in to see us they began in Burton Fleming, East Field Garden Centre, the Bridlington Animal Park and ending at the St Quintin Arms,  Harpham.

Here are the clues that got driver Steph and Lucy to the book shop:

Park up for the flicks
(The car Park where the book shop is located was once the location of a cinema called Palace Picture House which was on the site from 1896 to 1942)
1.4 million strong, you couldn’t hide them from Grandma
(There are 1.4 million members of the Lion Club. Don’t tell Grandma refers to a book called ‘How to Hide  Lion from Grandma)

Seasonal instructions from a Canary
(Delia Smith was Chair at Norwich City Football Club. The Canaries is the nickname of  Norwich City)

Here is Lucy with President Eileen.
